SACRAMENTO, CA – Today, the California Democratic Party (CADEM) proudly announced a historic display of unity of the California Delegation in voting to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris as the 2024 Democratic nominee for President. This evening’s vote of the California Delegation – the largest delegation in the Nation with 496 Delegates from Harris’ home-state – officially puts her in position to secure the Democratic nomination.
“The California Democratic Party is proud to offer our endorsement to California’s own, Vice President Kamala Harris, who represents a new generation of leadership and has the ability to unite our party and beat Trump in November,” said Rusty Hicks, Chair of CADEM. “The California Delegation quickly coalesced behind Vice President Harris for President because she’s smart, she’s tough and no one is better prepared to prosecute the case against convicted felon, Donald Trump.”
“This resounding endorsement illustrates Harris’ exceptional leadership and commitment to fight for the freedoms and rights of all Americans, which are under threat by Donald Trump and his dangerous, regressive MAGA agenda,” Hicks added.
Vice President Harris has already generated strong support from advocates for reproductive rights, democracy, young voters, LGBTQ+ rights, and unions.
She is in a strong position to beat Trump. Many polls already show VP Harris beating Trump outright. She also leads Trump among Independents.
