SACRAMENTO, CA – California Democratic Party Chair Rusty Hicks issued the following statement on the Republican National Committee (RNC) 2020 Convention:
“This week, we witnessed the chaos of Donald Trump on full display at the RNC 2020 Convention. Complete with misleading claims, conspiracy theories and outright lies, it’s clear that the RNC and its cast of characters will continue to shamelessly spread their hateful, divisive rhetoric across our nation.
The convention of chaos conveniently skipped over Trump’s many failures including his disastrous response to the disproportionate impact of the coronavirus on communities of color and his policies which have worsened racial disparities.
Simply put, Trump demonstrated, once again, that he will never rise to the occasion for all of America.
As we embark upon the work of the next 67 days, California Democrats will work tirelessly to restore the soul of our nation. Together, we proudly stand in solidarity to chart a new path towards a brighter, better future for all of us. Together, we will work to elect Joe Biden and Kamala Harris and build back better for this generation and the next.”
