KEY DATES:

  • Wednesday, February 21, 2024: period by which Same Day “Provisional” registration begins
  • Saturday, February 24, 2024: Vote centers open for early in-person voting in all Voter’s Choice Act counties.
    Vote-by-mail ballots can be returned by mail, at a drop-off location, or at your county elections office.
  • Tuesday, March 5, 2024: CA Primary Election Day, polls close at 8:00pm Vote-by-mail ballots must be postmarked and mailed.

HOW YOUR VOTE BY MAIL BALLOT WORKS
To register to vote, the person must be age 18 or older on March 5, 2024

  1. Receive your ballot in the mail.
  2. Use the CADEM Look-Up Tool To Find Your Democratic Party Candidates based on your address so you know the Democrats running in your district – stay informed or call 1-877-321-VOTE (8683) to get help from the CADEM Voter Protection Team!
  3. Complete ALL required information on the back of the return envelope, including your signature and the date.
  4. Return your ballot by mail, ensuring the envelope is postmarked or courier-stamped on or before March 5, 2024. If the postmark is nonexistent or illegible, the ballot envelope is signed by the voter and dated on or off before March 5, 2024. 

    VBM ballots must arrive no later than 8:00 p.m. March 5, 2024, either at the registrar, any polling place in the voter’s county, at a Vote Center, or at registrar-designated ballot drop-off locations.
