Position Summary:
The California Democratic Party (CDP) seeks an experienced Congressional Mail Manager for the 2024 Congressional Campaign Program. The candidate should have experience in processing and reviewing campaign mail, or relevant similar experience and abilities. The Congressional Mail Manager will work with the Congressional Campaign Director to review and approve all mail sent out by the California Democratic Party for the 2024 Election Cycle. Strong self-direction and the ability to take initiative are necessary qualifications.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with mail consultants, campaigns, and mail houses regarding program rules
- Review polling, mail plans, and research for mailers
- Approve CDP mail pieces with Congressional Campaign Director
- Monitor and confirm volunteer involvement in all Volunteer Exempt Mail (VEM) processing
- Monitor mail-related invoices and payments
- Assist with vouchering as needed in preparation for processing outgoing payments associated with the Mail Program
- Create and maintain archive of all mail pieces and related materials
- Other assignments or tasks as necessary relating to campaign operations
Qualities and Qualifications:
- Possess an unwavering dedication to following and high capacity to learn federal campaign finance laws, USPS political mail rules, and CDP’s bylaws and platform
- Strong task management aptitude and/or demonstrated skills
- Possess demonstrated skill at setting priorities, communicating issues, and keeping track of interactions with stake-holders
- Proficiency in various computer skill
- Deadline-oriented and detail-oriented while managing responsibilities in a fast-paced, time-critical environment
- Be willing to contribute to the team effort by performing other tasks, as needed
- Preferably, at least 2-3 years of experience in processing and reviewing campaign direct mail
- Support the CDP’s goal to take back Congress in 2024
