Location: Los Angeles/Sacramento/Hybrid
The California Democratic Party (CADEM) is hiring a motivated and creative Digital Intern to develop content related to voter outreach and volunteer engagement. The ideal candidate will have the knowledge and skills to create relevant, engaging media while remaining true to the party’s style and voice. This position is through August 30, 2024.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive social media content strategy across the party’s channels (Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Facebook, etc.).
- Create engaging, on-brand social media posts, graphics, videos, and other multimedia content to drive volunteer engagement and voter turnout.
- Monitor social media performance and adjust content approach based on data and feedback.
- Collaborate with the party’s digital team to align social media with broader messaging and outreach efforts.
- Provide regular reports on social media analytics and make recommendations to optimize performance.
- Assist with other communications, organizing, and other outreach projects as needed.
- Collaborate with other CADEM departments like organizing, training, communications, etc. to help broaden and strengthen CADEM’s overall work in targeted districts.
Qualifications and Skills:
- At least one year of experience working on a political campaign is preferred.
- Excellent writing and content creation skills, with experience developing social media content.
- Strong understanding of current social media trends, best practices, and analytics.
- Familiarity with social media management tools (Adobe, Canva, Photoshop, etc).
- Excellent communication skills, including public speaking.
- Positive attitude and ability to work within a team, across several departments, and independently when required.
- Good time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to approach problem-solving with creativity, initiative, and collaboration.
- High level of personal and professional integrity.
