Birthright citizenship is enshrined in the U.S. Constitution and the ability for a lower court to protect Americans from blatantly illegal measures is steeped in precedent. With Independence Day around the corner, today’s ruling reminds us that our constitutional rights are no longer guaranteed – as long as Trump sits in the White House and do-nothing Republicans bow to his every wish. California Democrats are committed to fixing at least one of those problems in 2026 when we retake the House and cut Trump’s term in half. Our future and our Democracy are counting on us.”
