SACRAMENTO, CA — The California Democratic Party (CADEM) today announced the expansion of its senior staff as Democrats gear up for pivotal midterm elections in 2026. Nichole Trujillo Rice has joined CADEM as Political Director, drawing on nearly two decades of experience as a political strategist, coalition builder, and advocate for working families.
“This year’s midterm elections present a critical moment for California and our nation, and we’re thrilled to have Nichole’s experience and talent on our team heading into November,” said CADEM Executive Director Melanie V. Ramil. “Her drive and commitment to electing leaders aligned with our Democratic values will be invaluable to securing wins up and down the ballot, taking back the U.S. House of Representatives, and energizing our Party now and into the future.”
Through her previous work as Political and Legislative Director for the United Food and Commercial Workers 8-GS and Advocate for the State Building and Construction Trades Council of California, AFL-CIO, Trujillo Rice has become well accustomed to helping elect leaders who are committed to serving their constituents and delivering results for working families.
As CADEM looks ahead to the November General Election and beyond, Trujillo Rice will serve as a key member of the leadership team dedicated to winning back the House, protecting democracy, and building a stronger California and nation.
